This book ties in many family characters – it is suspenseful, fast-paced, and will keep you up late at night finishing it. Their arguments heated up the pages and I loved the build up to what I knew would be one passionate and all-consuming connection. Sienna & Cruz’s relationship was a slow-burn with lots of verbal foreplay, hot chemistry and banter. Her transition throughout the story made me want to stand up and cheer. But after Sienna and Cruz come together, I was pulled into their story as a couple – how they interacted with each other, how she pushed away her feelings, and then when she eventually gave into them.
Sienna almost felt like a side character to me for a short while in this book, which worked because the heart of this story is truly Cruz/El Diablo. The way in which Cruz protects what is his is so HOT! What I loved the most about him is his passion, loyalty and protectiveness of those he loves – including Sienna. When Cruz recognizes his role within the family and knows what he must do, there is no holding him back. The transition from Cruz to El Diablo is exciting, alluring and hot AF. Until the unthinkable happens under his watch. I was drawn in by his alpha-male, possessive, dark and dangerous vibe and never looked back.Ĭruz is the epitome of a family mafioso…he knows his family’s past, but not all he wants to please his father, but he’s not sure yet to what extent. This book is EVERYTHING a mafia romance should be!! I fell down the rabbit hole of Cruz Martinez and it happened instantly. She was all it took for me to lose my focus. Pride for the birthright I’d soon fulfill. Lust for revenge and the blood I’d spill.
Sloth for the destruction against their will. Greed for the lives that were mine to kill. Wrath for taking what was precious to me. The sins of the father became those of the son.
